YOGA BASICS

First time yogi? No problem! This class is designed as an introduction to yoga asana. Class is slower-paced than an all-levels flow, and is focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. Come to learn, play, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. You don’t need to be able to touch your toes; you just have to be willing to try.

VINYASA FLOW

Enjoy an energetic yoga class that uses a flowing series of postures to create heat within the body as you increase strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance. Vinyasa Flow is good for new students who are physically active, those interested in the fitness benefits of yoga, and anyone who wants to dive into a multi-level yet strong practice. This practice is typically accompanied by a warm room and upbeat music.

YIN/RESTORATIVE

This yoga practice combines the elements of both Yin and Restorative Yoga. Yin is an relaxing, yet intense form of yoga that consists of holding postures for longer periods of time to allow stretching of the connective tissue, joints, ligaments, and bone. This help increase range of motion over time. Restorative Yoga is a form of active therapeutic relaxation that may use props and blankets to modify traditional yoga poses and melt away tension. There are typically only 5-10 yoga poses in a 60 minute class. Therefore, poses are held sometimes anywhere from four to ten minutes.
